Eltham Eagles is a soccer club that particpates in the VCSA (Victorian Churches Soccer Assocation) league during the autumn/winter season (April to August). Matches are played on Saturdays at grounds across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne (Eltham, Croydon, Blackburn, Knox, Lilydale, Bayswater, Berwick and Healesville).
A minimum of one team is fielded in each age group (U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16/17, Seniors and Womens).
The teams are mixed (boys and girls) up to U17 teams. Players participate in one training session per week on a weekday evening. There is a moderate annual registration charge to cover equipment, facility upkeep and VCSA registration and insurance costs.
The club aims to provide the opportunity for children and parents to participate in the sport of soccer in a friendly, encouraging and fun environment. We welcome players of all skill levels, from beginner to experienced, and our coaches have the objective of improving the individual and team skills of all players.
We try to ensure that every player, regardless of skill level, gets some match-time in each game and gets approximately the same match-time as any other player over the course of the season.
Parental involvement is strongly encouraged. Parents have the opportunity to participate by performing the role of team manager or coach or club officer (president, secretary or treasurer).
Our home ground is at the Eltham North Reserve off Wattle Tree Rd, Eltham. We have a single soccer pitch. Other facilities available at the ground include undercover barbecues, a children's adventure playground and toilets.
The Diamond Creek bicycle path passes through Eltham North Reserve. The Edendale Community Farm is adjacent to and accessible from Eltham North Reserve.
